Family History

Who's In Your Family History ? Look here to find out.

Ever wondered who is in your family tree? We here at Mildly Amused have been wondering that for nearly two decades now. We've done some research and we can show you some of what's in our tree and hopefully by applying a few search techniques you will be able to see if any of our ancestors are your ancestors as well. We've got nearly 25,000 ancestors in our tree listed on this site in one place or another.  Rather than just putting up a bunch of static links and hoping your can find a needle in a haystack, we've put up a powerful new dynamic database you can search online right here on our site.  It will give you many of the same views of an ancestor you'd expect on a home based genealogy program like PAF, Family Tree Maker or other similar program.

At Mildly Amused, some of our trees have been planted here in the United States since before there was a country called that.  Lines like Manning, Martin, Kennett, Buchanan and Gist are amongst those names that have been here 100's of years. Other lines are immigrated in the great waves of the late 1800's.  Schoepke, Gille, Gesell, Wheeler are some of those lines.  Still other lines are recent arrivals by genealogy standards.  Anderson is one of those lines that is long in the historical sense, but short for us here in the U.S. having only arrived 2 generations ago for us.

Where ever, and when ever, your ancestors arrived I'm sure they met some of mine.  Odds are pretty good that some of yours are some of ours too.  Look at the top menu on the site and find the ANCESTOR SEARCH menu selection.  You'll see a help selection there (designed to speed you through the search process) and a menu selection to actively search our database.  You may also, if you wish, go to the list of surnames on the Genealogy Menu, and see if your surname is listed on the site.  Lots of ways to get to the same objective : find out if your ancestors are here and what can we learn about them.
